It's not possible to power terminal with cable over 10m
The CAB19/10m and higher (and CAB18 higher than 15m) does not have the power supply in the cable. The reason is that the voltage drop is too large in the cable.
The FX Mini DIN connector has only one +5V supply out and therefore we cannot increase the area of the cable as much as needed (the impedance in the cable will be too large).
For the CAB18 you have 2 +5V pin out and therefore we can increase the cable area so we can power the terminal up to 15m.
SC-09 cable CE-Certification
We cannot provide any CE certification for the SC-09 programming cable.
Serial printer cable
Signals for serial printer
- 232 Port on terminal Port on serial printer
- 2 RxD > TxD
- 3 TxD > RxD
- 5 SG (0v) > (0v)
- 7 RTS > CTS
- 8 CTS > RTS
If the printer has a buffer, RTS and CTS are not needed.
Why can I not download my project?
To use the CAB 6 you must make sure that your terminal has a +5 VDC supply between pin 14 and 7 on the RS422 port.
If not, the terminal cannot power the electronic board in the RS422 connector.
Why does my communication not start?
If the communication starts with ex the CAB 1 cable (Cimrex) or the programming cable for the S5 system (Exter) make sure that your terminal has a +5 VDC supply between pin 14 and 7 on the RS422 port.
If not, the terminal cannot power the electronic board in the RS422 connector.
Detailed info on CABDC24-5V
Problem
1. What is the short-circuit voltage on the 5V DC output?
2. What is the voltage fluctuation on the 5VDC output (-xxxV ... + xxxV)?
Solution
1. The output voltage in the short circuit condition is a "Hiccup" state. The value of the resistor R21 (0,27 Ohm) sets the max output current limit.
2. Voltage fluctuation is +/- 6% (+/-300mV)
